THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED, but come back in the morning for a new one!

We're celebrating all of you hard-working moms with a giveaway from "This Thing Called Family" EVERY DAY this week!

SEVEN giveaways!  One winner every day!

Today's giveaway is this piece of wall art, designed by Mamma Winger Connie, from our new mom rules collection:

From Mamma Winger, Connie:
"One of the best things I've learned about Jesus is that He went to the "least of these" and heard their needs.  It doesn't matter what we are wearing, what we are doing, where we are, who we are. He will meet us in prayer.  Kids need to know this (and adults, too!) We can pray anytime, anywhere and use our own words to express our love and thanks and He will hear us.  ALL of us!  Cool, huh?!" -- Mamma Winger

  1. I recently shared a sweet moment of prayer with my youngest as she asked Jesus to be her savior. It doesn't get any better than that!

  2. Many nights, my six-year-old daughter and I say our "Wow" prayers: "Wow, God, You are ________ (Adoration); "I'm sorry for _________ (Confession); "Thank You, God, for _________ (Thanksgiving); and "Please, God, _________ (Supplication). It is such a sweet time between us and God - always melts my heart!!

  4. My youngest son Noah always like to use the phrase "Please forgive me when I make you very sad". I'm thankful that he see's God as a real person with real feelings.

  5. Every night, this is our prayer: "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Guide me Jesus through the night and wake me with the morning light. God bless everybody, and always let everyone be safe, happy and healthy. Amen." We also add in any extras that we are thankful for, sorry for, worried about, etc...

  6. When my little guy was 4, he said, "God, please have Dad tickle me more." Which is hilarious, because my husband tickles him CONSTANTLY already! So of course my husband snuck into his room first thing in the morning to tickle!

  7. I don't have any children. I hope that doesn't exclude me. I pray all day long. Find a great parking spot? Thank you God. I find something I had lost. "Thank you God" The weather is sunny? "Thank you God" Oprah once said if the only prayer you ever say is "Thank you God" that is good. Oh..also when the airplane comes to a safe stop. That is a real THANK YOU GOD" moment.

  9. LOVE this piece - so fun :)

My nightime prayer when I was little... and we continued it with our kids...

    "Great gray elephant
    Little yellow bee
    Tiny purple flower
    Small green tree
    Red and white sailboat
    on a blue sea
All these things You gave to me
When You made my eyes to see
    Thank you God.
    Amen"

I can totally see this is one of your pieces!!!!

  10. This was with my 12 year old grandson. I was deciding whether to move to the area he was living with family. I said keep praying about it for me ___________. He stopped what he was doing and came to where I was, placed his hands on my shoulders and prayed out loud right there about the situation. It was a beautiful time. I moved and all is well. We still pray together and for each other.
    Thank you.

  11. When we say prayers before our meal our lil granddaughter, 16 months, leans back in her highchair and just smiles & watches us pray. The look on her face tells me that she knows it's a special moment with our hands folded to give thanks before we eat.

  13. My son just turned 18, but the last time I really remember praying WITH him was when he was 11 and his older brother was in a coma. When his brother passed away, he said that he believed Nate was in the clouds. So sad- my poor boy.

  14. I love praying with my children. My son uses a high voice to pray for some reason...so funny. His nightly prayer for a few months was, "thank you for the venture land" after our trip to Adventureland.

  15. When my boys were toddlers we did the "Now I lay me down to sleep" prayer. Now, we kinda just "talk to God" it maybe about their day, what tomorrow will bring, whatever is on their mind. It gives them (and me) a chance to sit, and have a moment to share with the Lord.
