A BIG thank you to all of you locals who came out and visited us at the Iowa Arts Festival last weekend! We battled the rain both mornings, and then the wind Saturday afternoon, and then we had nice weather Sunday afternoon! Despite all of the crazy weather, we had one of our most successful events ever!
But man, that wind was stressful. We literally had to stand guard, holding onto our racks for a couple of hours to prevent the gusts of wind from tipping them over - even with two cinder blocks weighting each down. The people on either side of us both lost their tents and some of their work. I seriously am experiencing flashbacks anytime the wind blows now. I just may be scarred for life. It's a good thing I have a short memory. I'll be ready to go by the time our next show rolls around. Which may be as close as next month! (We'll keep ya updated.)
Because the weather and the big crowds kept us so busy, we didn't have time to take any pictures! So I'll leave you with these two pieces I made for last weekend, which I'm frankly surprised I still own, because they turned out really fabulous, if I do say so myself. And I do. I'd better stop now, before my head explodes.
I really can't believe somebody didn't snatch up those two pieces. They are both wonderful! I just love your style. So fun!
ReplyDeleteOh my word! What a dramatic weekend. Glad you did not lose any of your work.
ReplyDeleteThose new pieces are gorgeous, of course!
