Stop! Collaborate and Listen!

If you know what that title is from, then that really says something about you - but I won't say what. When the youngest member of "Things with Wings" was home from Austin, you know the sexy young single "thing?" Anyway, when she was home we decided to spend some quality art making time together making an extra special project for some friends who are in the process of adopting. They are creative people themselves and thought up a really cool way to raise awareness for adoption, specifically what's going on in Ethiopia, and raise some funds for their own adoption. They are having a fun night of food, music and art. Us girls have donated several of our individual pieces to be silent auctioned plus this collaborative piece that we had so much fun creating:

Jesus Loves the Little Children of the World!

  1. I had to stop after reading that title and do my 'Hammer dance'. Then I read the first sentence and felt a little foolish!!

  2. Laura..."Stop Collaborate and listen" is from Vanilla Ice. MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice have two very different dances. :) I would like to point out how amazing those black and white checkers look! wow!

  3. Are you sure?? I guess you would know since you were Vanilla Ice's #1 fan. You DID dye a white stripe in your hair and shave lines into your eyebrow so obviously you are the expert. Aren't you just a little bit embarrassed? Especially with the tattoo and all? I know I would be...what a shame that I did the Hammer dance for nothin'. Oh well, it was my excercise for the day..

  4. ok, ok...this is getting a little out of hand now...now you are just making up stuff! "Alright stop, collaborate and listen...Ice is back with a brand new invention...something...grabs ahold of me tightly flows like a harpoon daily and nightly...will it ever stop, yo, I don't know... turn off the lights and I'll glow..."
The Hammer dance can come out at any point and time and there is no shame in that...only if you went and got some hammer pants would I start wondering about you!

  5. Ok, I think you just proved my point. And yes, there IS shame in the Hammer dance. Can I borrow your hammer pants? I know you have several you rotate throughout the week.

  6. We've really turned a very nice post about Jesus loving the little children of the world into a bottomless pit of despair. We really should turn away from the dark side...
