Emmy.

I made this for my sister. She loves to sing and she loves the Lord.

Here is the latest thing I just finished. I think I'm going to have a hard time selling this one...I have the perfect spot for it. It's big 1' X 2'. I will have a smaller one in my Etsy shop, but if anyone is interested in this bigger one, let me know!
Just thought I'd share with you a special order that I did for a lady that is giving this piece to her husband as an anniversary gift. She was at our open house and saw something similar that I have hanging in my kitchen and commissioned me to make one for her. At the time I had jokingly commented that "everything in my house is for sale...for the right price!"

New Year.

So, my goal for this new year is to get my art shop open online through Etsy.com. It is a very cool website where you can sell your artwork all over the world. I've bought a few things for myself, like a cool print from an artist in Australia. I could spend hours and hours browsing there. Anyway, I'm a little scared of the outcome. I'm not sure what the worst case scenario is, but I'm scared of what that might be! Maybe nobody will buy anything? Maybe someone will post a note saying my art is the most 'butt-ugly' thing they've ever seen? OK. Maybe I'm overreacting. It's a self-confidence thing...or lack thereof! I DO feel like God is calling me to do this, so I better listen and just go with it. I think my sister is working on opening up her online shop as well, so maybe we can drag each other through the process. (Mom? Are you feeling brave??) Things aren't so scary when you've got a friend to go with you! I'll keep you updated and let everyone know when it's official. If you think of it, say a little prayer for me.

Oh, What A Day It Was!

We had lots of help from our very own art fairy who helped us set up for our open house. See how helpful she is? Ten ornaments on one branch is totally the way to go. More signs of an art fairy at work:Here's our area -

Deb's table (the square and tree paintings in the front are Shadley's):
(That tree was LOADED with handmade ornaments! Made by me, my mom and sister.)

Shadley's work:
Diana and Marissa's jewelry:
Treats with a lovely handmade centerpiece by Laura:
It was a fun day! Lots of laughing, lots of good friends, lots of new faces, lots of treats, and good weather besides. It was totally the happenin' place to be on Saturday. ;) We're already kickin' around the idea of a spring open house.

ART is FUN!!!

Just look at these two faces. When these two come over to my art table, they make my day. They are so sweet and so much fun. They are convinced I am the greatest artist in the whole world and who am I to burst their bubble??? This is where I spend my mornings - showing them art and the love of Jesus. Grace is on the left and Molly on the right.
