Each Day...

...comes bearing its own gift....

....Untie the ribbons.

{12x12 inches, $45}

I've been working on several square canvases in preparation for the shows we've got coming up this spring. I'm loving how they turned out. This is the first that I'm sharing with all of you and I love the message. So often I take my days home with my kids doing ordinary things for granted. I want to always be 'present' and intentional with them and not just go through the motions, because each day really IS a present!

Not so coincidentally (don't you love it when God does that?!) I'm listening to a song on the radio right now called "The Motions" by Matthew West. Do you know it? It's really good and has been speaking to me. (If you go to M.W.'s link, you can listen to the song, and make your own resolution to not just go through the motions!) Does anybody else struggle with this? What do you do when you feel like this?

There'll be more new pieces to come in the next few days so stay tuned! {-Jill}

Time Is A Precious Thing...

I just got done with these 3 clocks. They were really fun to make and WERE going in my etsy shop but my pictures are loading all wonky, so I'll have to have my 'tech guy' look at that tonight (I'll feed him supper first and let him take off his shoes.) Oh, well. I guess there's no hurry. These clocks will always prove me to be right on time, no matter what!

These two new beauties are now available in my etsy shop today!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday! {-Jill}

Spring Has Sprung! (except for the snow we're going to get this weekend...)

I haven't decided if she's a little bit cute or a little bit scary. Maybe a little of both?!?

Big Day for Sharpies

Big day in the life of Connie, who likes to use her Sharpies beyond any point of doing any good, in fact, they usually have to botch up something good before she gets the idea that she really should part with them and start over. So look what's in her trash today. This photo is really for her daughters, who deal in sharp sharpies only. They will understand, because after all, it's me - their mother - and her waste-not-want-not outlook on life. . . . throwing away sharpies. Take a deep breath, Connie.
The dash to the local Wal-Mart was worth it. Brand new sharpies not even opened yet. Now to open them and use them. wow. This is big. ok, back to work. -Connie

HOME

Home wasn't built in a day, you know!!!

. . . . . that's all I got to say about that. -Connie

Dolls

Hi, girls! Hey, you, on the left - you remind me of my niece Madison - I didn't realize it until just now.
Each doll has a little board book tied to her wrist. Looks like something on "love".
Did you ever see a lassie go this way . . . . and that?!

I've never stopped loving dolls. -Connie

Blend in? Who, me? Never!

I have been meaning to post this since my birthday (Mar.5). Anyhow, my daughter Jill (& family) bought this for me from Color Fly Studio. I absolutely love it!!! It's hanging in my living room.

Here it is right under our Jesus fish! They really compliment each other, as opposed to blending in together!!! And I love that.
Thank you, Jennifer DeDonato for your wonderful talent.

Thank You!

Head on over to the knack studios blog and see the post she did about Things with Wings today! We are so honored and thrilled to be at all associated with her talent! Barb of knack studios posts her design and artsy favorites, but even cooler than that she redoes the coolest furniture and turns somethings old and ugly into spectacular pieces! And get this: each of the pieces she does, she gives them a name!

Thanks again Barb!

Free Give Away - Don't Forget!

Don't forget to sign up for the free giveaway! Scroll down and leave a comment on yesterday's bookmark post - winner to be announced on Tuesday! But wait! First take a look at all the cool new stuff that my mom posted below. THEN go sign up for the drawing!

halleluia!!!

These are old blocks I found while rummaging around and completely gave them a facelift with my all time favorite thing - POLKA DOTS! Right here you've got music, the word JOY and polka dots all together in one piece - what could be better than that??? right? Oh, yes, and the color green. I am proud of this one. The song has lots of "halleluias" in it, which seems appropriate since the kind of joy I am talking about here comes from Jesus Himself. He is the heart of the universe and He is available to ALL of us.
Here is another block. This gal is soaking up nature, all right! Maybe even soaking up a little you -know- what in her hair!!!! yuk!!! And, yup, I'm a little bit crazy!
Here are the two side by side. It's been fun!

"DOLLIES"

Here is one of my "Dollies" made from fleece and parts of an old quilt. Yes, she is a little green and that's ok, (we've all been there.) My "Dollies" are intended for girls of pretty much any age. Hey! she has something in her pocket!
Hmmmmmm.............well, let's see here what this is about.
Oh! A reminder to play nice! Well, isn't that nice!?
